Questions
Things people ask.
Plain answers. Where we don’t know yet, we say so rather than guess.
Do I get to see it before it prints?
Yes. With the Print edition you get one round of revisions on the proof before we order the print. With the Digital edition, revisions are unlimited: it’s your file, and you can change anything you like, for as long as you like.
Can I order extra copies?
Yes. Printed copies are $45 each from us. If you have the file, you can order copies straight from Canva at roughly $25 each, as many as you want, whenever you want.
Do I need Canva?
Not for the Print edition; we handle everything. For the Digital edition, yes: a free Canva account is required to open, edit and print the file.

What if I didn't keep any notes?
That’s most people. The conversation at the start is built for exactly this: it asks where you went, who came, what you want remembered, and follows up on the things worth following up. Your photographs carry a lot of the story on their own.
What we won’t do is make things up. If there isn’t real material for a page — a quote nobody said, a day nobody remembers — that page is deleted rather than invented. The less you tell us, the more general the words will be; the levels of involvement lay this out.
How long does it take?

What sizes are there?
Three: Gallery (24–32 pages, a short trip, photo-led), Journal (40–56 pages, a week or two, the standard issue) and Feature (64–80 pages, a long trip or a big group). You don’t choose a page count. The conversation works out which size fits from the length of the trip, how many people came and how many photographs there are, and tells you both prices before you pay.
Print edition: $69, $89 and $119. Digital edition: $39, $49 and $69.
Can I edit the file myself?
With the Digital edition, yes: anything, for as long as you like. We proofread it before we hand it over; once you start editing, the final proofread becomes yours. With the Print edition, we keep the file and the proofread, and you get one round of revisions.
Why is the Print edition $40 more?
Because that’s about what it costs. Roughly $25 of it is the print itself and the rest is handling and the risk of shipping something bound. If you’d rather keep the $40 and have the file, that’s a perfectly good choice, and we’re glad to sell it.
What happens to my photographs?
They’re used to make your magazine and nothing else. They aren’t shown anywhere, used as examples, sold, or used to train anything. Within 30 business days of your order being fulfilled, we delete them, along with everything you told us.
The whole promise, including how to ask for earlier deletion, is on the privacy page.
What do you need from me to get started?
Your email, then a conversation. Where you went, when, who came (and how they spell their names), and the things you want remembered. Photographs come after payment, by upload link. Details on the how it works page.
